Use this to see if you’re showing signs of hearing loss.

Complete this simple hearing questionnaire to see if you are showing signs of common indicators that may suggest a decline in your hearing. You may want a loved one to give you their responses as well. Sometimes admitting the truth can be difficult.

Please respond to the following questions with simple ‘Yes,’ ‘Sometimes’ or ‘No,’ answers.

For every ‘Yes’ score 3 points, for every ‘Sometimes’ score 2 points, and for every ‘No’ score 1 point.

  3. Have you noticed a gradual decline in hearing over time?

 

  1. Environmental Sounds:
  1. Do you struggle to hear doorbells, alarms, or the phone ringing easily?
  2. Are you unaware of common sounds like footsteps or birdsong?
  3. Do you find it hard to locate the source of sounds around you?

 

  1. Medical History:
  2. Have you had ear infections or injuries before?
  3. Is there a family history of hearing loss?
  4. Are you currently taking medications known to affect hearing?

Your Score

18-27 points: Low likelihood of hearing loss.

28-39 points: Moderate possibility; consider a professional hearing assessment.

40+ points: Higher likelihood; consult with one of our expert audiologists for a comprehensive hearing assessment.
